The Styles - Accoustic

 

Folk-Folk Rock Acoustic:

Early Dylan, Doc Watson, Peter Paul & Mary...all the folkies-  Gorgeous, deep sound from this type of guitar.  Pricing easily varies from low end $100 guitars (beware) to high end beuaties.  Some of the notables on the high end include CF Martin, Guild, and more.  Great Martin guitars at http://www.martinguitar.com/.

Accoustic guitars ussually comes as a six string version, with a large body and a skinny neck or fretboard.  Also, can be seen with either steel or noylon strings, though most folkies play steel strings for the sound.  As an aside, there are also twelve string guitars, whichl simply double the 6 strings, only an octave higher.  Sames techniques used to play them, but physically harder to play-

  1. E - highest, skinniest - steel
  2. B - steel
  3. G - still steel
  4. D -  Getting lowere - copper
  5. A -  Copper again
