More and more “dressy”, or “formal” wear, is blending in with everyday style. We think this is a great trend because it allows you so much more versatility in your wardrobe. The key is to figure out you can include pieces in your wardrobe that you can dress up or down.

This season we are seeing a lot of embellished pieces that are definitely versatile. Everywhere you look there are beads or sequins. The great part about it is, depending on how you wear the piece, you can easily take it from funky to fancy in no time!

Artfulwears just got in this gorgeous knit top by Interlud, with beading details (picture to come). It’s the perfect example of something you can totally change the look of just by what you wear with it. If you pair it with a great pair of dark washed jeans, you can wear it to dinner etc. Or if you pair it with a dressy black skirt, a great pair of dressy shoes, and a sparkling earring, you are ready for a party.

We are also seeing a lot of metallic fabrics this season. Again, they lend themselves to being dressed up but you can easily throw on a more casual pair of shoes and some funky jewelry and look pull together yet not over-dressed.

So don’t hesitate to buy a piece that you think is very dressy, you can always dress it down with more casual accessories, shoes, or a jacket.
