Lots of people -- college football fans, that is, who can be completely rabid -- hate the BCS. Now you can help do something about it.
Help Fix the Problem!
College football fans can be rabid about their teams. Some of us live for
the Fall so we can spend all day Saturday zoned in front of the tube for 14
straight hours of gridiron greatness. But for years now, it has been difficult
for some of us to get too excited.
Throughout the country, thousands of college football fans think the
Bowl Championship Series is an insult to every single one of us! Computer
programs combined with non-scientific polling is no way to choose who plays in
the National Championship game. It should be decided on the field. We need a
playoff system.
As they say at Sack the BCS:
“That’s why the BCS system should be sacked and the NCAA should adopt a
playoff system to decide the national champion. Join us in building support for
Sacking the BCS system.”
This is a great idea; see the link at the bottom of this post. This website
wants to end the BCS madness, and help establish a new system, a sensible
system for fixing the BCS and college football. You can get informed about the
problem, and you can send a message to the NCAA through the Sack the BCS
website. You can read up on the latest news on the subject of the BCS, finding
gems like this:
“BCS might as well stand for Baloney 'n' Cheese Sandwich championship, to go
with all those big-name sponsor chips. Because that's about what it is worth,
at least from our seat at the debate table.”
And you can help develop a new program that will, hopefully, someday replace
the BCS. Let’s get together. As fans we owe it to ourselves!
