It is almost here -- Halo 3 is coming!

Can't wait ...

OK, Madgamer is getting a little bit nutso waiting for the release of Halo 3, the third and final installment of the ridiculously popular and amazingly good shoot-em-up game. The game is set to explode upon America on Sept. 25, and people have already been getting ready to save places in line in order to be the very first to get their game on Halo3 style.

The hype is actually over the top ridiculous, but if there is any franchise in the universe of games that can live up to this kind of promotional overkill, it is definitely Halo.

According to most of the pre-launch media material I have found, the new game is not supposed to begin right where Halo 2 left off. There is a comic mini-series – Halo:  Uprising – that bridges the two stories. The game begins with Master Chief back on earth, completely controlled and under the domination of the Covenant. The arbiter and elites, apparently, have split from the Cov., and it has been suggested by some cyber-snoops that the grunters and hunts (ha, ha), have joined forces with the elites.

The anticipation is killing me. Halo 3 is sure to go crazy with all kinds of sales record, as the all-time killer app. Halo and Halo 2 have sold tens of millions. This new game might sell that many just in the first day! So get ready because here it comes thank you to the gaming Gods! Time to go get myself some weapons and go for it!

Though I am sure that many reading this have already pre-ordered Halo 3, which is due to come out on September 25th, I have taken the liberty of finding links for those of you who have fallen behind.  You could get the regular Halo 3...or, if you are a true nerd, as I am, you could spring for the limited or even legendary editions of the game.  Don't be surprised if a big group of guys gets wind of that and shows up on your door the 25th.
