Haunted Decorations
It’s transfiguration time! Time to transform your boring
domicile into a haunted house of horrors for the Halloween holiday season.
Think of all the little ghosts, witches, goblins and other trick-r-treaters who
are coming your way on the 31st. Want to scare the bejeepers out of
them? Or do you just want to make your place the coolest, creepiest on the
block? Here are some of my Halloweeniest ideas, (with help from the Internet).
Monster Footprints
Draw a footprint in a big sponge and cut it out. Then, pour washable paint in a
pan and press the sponge in the paint. Sponge footsteps up your sidewalk to
your front door for trick-r-treaters to follow. Flip the sponge upside down to
stamp the other foot. This is especially cool with fluorescent paint and a
black light.
Cobwebs
Cut string into 4 foot lengths and tape them to the ceiling of your porch. Throughout
the night, hold a bowl of water up to the string to get it, and keep it, wet.
When people walk past, the slimy string will brush across their foreheads and
scare them!
Body Parts
This is a fun set up to your porch, assuming it is large enough and spookily
lit. This could also be set up on the sidewalk leading to your house. Fill
bowls with body parts and have trick-r-treaters reach in and be disgusted. Cut
up a bunch of hot dogs lengthwise for severed fingers. Cook some spaghetti
noodles for veins or guts. A bunch of grapes rolling around in a bowl of oil feels
like eyeballs. Fill a balloon with warm water and spread it with strawberry
jam. Invite your guests to touch your brain!
