Halloween -- Things have sure changed!

Back when Madgamer was a kid, Halloween costumes were a lot simpler. I remember dressing one year as a cowboy, the next as a “hobo,” and the next year I was a vampire. Every one of those costumes I wore as a kid seemed to be made out of clothing and other materials that we already had. Or, maybe it took a fifty-cent pair of plastic fangs and some fake blood. But I do not recall heading to a store for an intricate costume the likes of which can be found today.

Not that it wouldn’t have been great! I think that I would have loved dressing up in some of the great costumes available nowadays. I mean just check out some of the costumes that are available in 2007:

For kids there are full-size Darth Vader costumes that come complete with a light saber and black boots. Or the little ones can go dressed as Belle from the great Disney movie in a dress that might be seen on the red carpets of Hollywood. And, of course, this year perhaps the most popular costume is going to be based on another Disney venture: The Pirates of the Caribbean. I mean, what little boy won’t want to become Captain Jack Sparrow for Halloween?

And there’s even all kinds of costumes out there for adults who want to dress-up for Halloween. The women can go as Betty Boop, a corpse bride, or even a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader. And meanwhile, all the grown-up little boys can still dress up like Captain Jack!
